How can I make an international payment to someone I normally pay in the UK?

Even though you normally pay your recipient in the UK, you’ll need to set the payment up again from the beginning.

This is because we require different information for international and sterling only recipients.

To make an international payment:

  1. Please log in to Wealth Online Banking.
  2. Click Make Payment/Transfer (left, under Payments).
  3. Click downwards arrow (right of From and Select from account).
  4. Click on the account you’d like to make the payment or transfer from.
  5. Click in the circle left of Make an urgent UK payment or an international payment in any currency.
  6. Do you want to make a payment to an existing recipient? Click in the circle left of Pay an existing recipient. Then click the downwards arrow after Select recipient and click NEXT.
  7. Or are you paying someone new? Click in the circle left of Pay someone new. Then type the recipient’s name and address and use the downwards arrow to choose the country.
  8. Click the downwards arrow right of Account currency to choose which currency your account is in.
  9. Type either the account number or IBAN of your recipient.
  10. Type in your recipient bank’s SWIFT ID, or national clearing type and code. or their bank name and bank address.
  11. Will you pay them again in future? Click in the box left of Save this recipient's details. Then type a nickname in the box right of Recipient nickname.
  12. Click NEXT.
  13. Type the amount you want to pay your recipient and click the arrow right of GBP UK sterling to choose the currency you’d like to pay in.
  14. Type a payment reference.
  15. Choose when you’d like to pay by clicking on the arrow right of As soon as possible.
  16. Click on the arrow next to Only UK charges to be taken from your account to choose charges.
  17. Click NEXT.

  1. Check the details of your proposed regular payment carefully. If correct, click in the box after five-digit passcode and type your passcode.
  2. Click CONFIRM.
  3. Click FINISH.

Registered for our Text Message Service?

  1. Click SEND.
  2. Click in the box after Security code.
  3. Type the security code we’ve just texted you.
  4. Click CONFIRM.
  5. Click FINISH.
