SWIFT ID / SWIFT CODE / SWIFTBIC

A SWIFT ID, also known as a SWIFT code or SWIFTBIC is an eight or 11 digit bank code. It identifies the bank you're sending funds to and should always be used for international payments to ensure efficient transfer of money.

Many banks refuse to accept payments without SWIFT ID, or charge extra.

All international payments to and from Europe require a SWIFT ID and an IBAN (International Bank Account Number).

What is Barclays SWIFT ID / SWIFT Code?

Barclays SWIFT ID (also known as a SWIFT code) is:

BARCGB22 

BARC represents Barclays

GB is the country code

22 identifies the Head Office.

You may see an extra three digits added to represent a specific Barclays branch.

How do I find my SWIFT ID / SWIFT Code?

You can find your SWIFT ID / SWIFT Code on the top right hand corner of your statement.

You can view your SWIFT ID / SWIFT Code / SWIFTBIC via Online Banking on your statement, by following the below steps:

From your Online Banking 'Home' screen:

  1. Tap on the 'Profile' icon - top right of your screen
  2. Under My documents and messages - click on 'My Barclays documents'
  3. Select the account you wish to see the statements for
  4. Select the icon next to any statement you wish to download
  5. You will see your SWIFT ID / SWIFT Code / SWIFTBIC on the top right hand corner of your statement
  6. Once you have finished you can click 'Home' - top left of your screen
