I would like to request a same day payment using 'CHAPS', when does the request need to be received?

A CHAPS payment is a same day Sterling transfer to another bank, or branch in the UK, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

All 'CHAPS' payment requests must be received by the following UK times at the latest, for the payment to be processed on that day.

Request Method Cut off times
Paper instructions (original letter or coded fax) Must be received by 12 noon to ensure that the funds are transferred the same day.
Telephone requests (International & Private Bank clients only) Must be received by 14.00 to ensure that the funds are transferred the same day.
Online Banking payment requests Must be received by 17.00 to ensure that the funds are transferred the same day. However, it is recommended that all requests are made as early as possible in the working day to cover for unforeseen circumstances..

Please note: The above times apply to 'Working Days' only
